Later during the "Mother" conversation, I could see Adlyn staring into my eyes. Well, he wasn't staring into them but at them. His face looked puzzled. He asked, "Miss April, what is that black stuff right here?" and pointed to his eyelid. So much for my dramatic makeup today!
