Move Over Bacon
I consider myself a good cook. Of course, every once in a while, some exotic recipes doesn't gel, or the cake is a little too dry... but for the most part, the more dramatic the cooking, the more fun I have making and eating it. I just read Mrs. Child's autobiography, for goodness sake. So, tonight I thought I'd take it easy and make bacon in my toaster oven. I couldn't get it cooked. Then, I fried it. It still wouldn't get crispy. So, I put it back in the toaster oven and burnt it.
Serious disappointment. Now my house smells nasty. My tongue hurts from a little trying of the disaster. And I'm still hungry.
Nothing like a good dinner of humility.
