Now, There's a Good Reason
Our reading story talks about a family that buys an "old broken down" house in the country. (Sounds so familiar.) The first paragraph talks about why the family likes living in the country: the water is sweet, the air smells good, there is lots of grass, etc... There's a picture in the book of the house with a large tree in the sprawling yard.
I asked my class if they would like to live there and why. Everyone said yes - but Bismark's logic was the best: Yes, because when my mom wanted to spank me I could run and climb up the tree and hide.
