Dressing Appropriately

Today I went bike riding athrough a charming neighborhood. The sun had just come out from behind the clouds and every one's gardens were happy from the rain. A light breeze and light traffic made the evening even nicer.

There was only one problem. My pants. I had worn my Pilate's pants that flair out at the bottom. And they kept getting caught on something on the bike. Catch, tear a little, rip. Not only did they end up getting shredded, they almost cost me my life. Several times. What happens when you can't pedal?

It made me think of dressing appropriately. Having the right things on for the right task. Made me think of Galatians.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. ... Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. Ephesians 6:10-18
