Jealousy or The Web of Love
Sometimes we women have the tendency to grow jealous of other people's relationships. Friends, family, even with the pastor's wife... sometimes we see something on Facebook or hear an antidote and think: What?! I wasn't invited to go with them to lunch? We see a child growing close to another adult and wish we could win their affections as well. We see our grand-kids' pictures with the other set of grandparents and feel like we are being robbed.
CS Lewis wrote of friendship in his book "The Four Loves" after his friend, Charles Williams, died. He talked about how Charles could make Ronald Tolkien laugh. Because of Charles' and Ronald's friendship, CS Lewis had more - not less - of Ronald Tolkien than if their relationship had just been between the two of them.
What a reminder to make sure we are celebrating all the facets of the people in our lives - rejoicing how each relationship they have can bring glory to God and reveal His gifts.

"In each of my friends there is something that only some other friend can fully bring out. By myself I am not large enough to call the whole man into activity; I want other lights than my own to show all his facets.... "
What a reminder to make sure we are celebrating all the facets of the people in our lives - rejoicing how each relationship they have can bring glory to God and reveal His gifts.
